After leaving the Plaça d'Espanya area, the course passes several of Barcelona's best-known landmarks, including Gran Via, Passeig de Sant Joan and the surroundings of the Arc de Triomf. The profile remains mostly flat, making it ideal for maintaining a steady rhythm throughout much of the race.
