What is the route of the ASICS Marathon de Paris

The 2027 course will be completely new and the organiser will publish it in January 2027. So far it is confirmed that the start will remain on the Champs-Élysées and that the new route will make greater use of both banks of the Seine. We will update this page with the km-by-km route as soon as it is official.

For reference, the traditional course started on the Champs-Élysées, passed Place de la Concorde, the Louvre and Bastille, headed into the Bois de Vincennes, came back along the Seine quays past the Île de la Cité and the Eiffel Tower, and finished on Avenue Foch after crossing the Bois de Boulogne.

Another 2027 change: aid stations will be every 2.5 km (previously every 5 km) and single-use plastic cups and bottles are gone, so it's worth running with your own bottle or soft flask.

Where to stay for the ASICS Marathon de Paris

With the start on the Champs-Élysées, staying in the 8th, 16th or 17th arrondissements, or anywhere well connected to metro line 1, gets you to the start easily. The 2027 finish is not yet confirmed, so prioritise good metro access.

If you prefer more atmosphere and places to eat, the centre (Le Marais, Saint-Germain or the Châtelet area) is very well connected to the start by public transport.

Getting there from the airport for the ASICS Marathon de Paris

From Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, the RER B reaches the centre (Gare du Nord and Châtelet-Les Halles) in about 30-35 minutes; the dedicated airport ticket costs around €13.

From Orly, metro line 14 runs directly to the centre (Châtelet) in about 25-30 minutes, with the same airport ticket of around €13.

Frequently Asked Questions about ASICS Marathon de Paris

How do I get a bib for 2027?

By lottery. Entry to the free lottery was open from 8 to 30 September 2026; results are announced from 1 October and selected runners have 72 hours to confirm and pay. Charity bibs are also available through partner associations.

How much does a bib cost?

€169 for the general public, with a 5% discount for FFA licence holders. There are also "passerelle" bibs at €50 for eligible groups.

Can I enter with friends?

Yes: the lottery accepts groups of 2 to 6 people, and if one member is drawn, the whole group is selected.

Are a medal and T-shirt included?

The medal is now optional (you can decline it when entering) and the finisher T-shirt is no longer included in the entry fee, a measure to reduce waste.

When will the course be published?

The organiser plans to present it in January 2027. Only the start on the Champs-Élysées is confirmed.

Is there a half marathon?

Yes, the Paris Half Marathon (now HOKA Semi de Paris) takes place on 7 March 2027, a month before the marathon.

About ASICS Marathon de Paris

The Paris Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the world and a highlight of the European calendar: in 2024 it had more than 53,000 finishers. The 42.195-kilometre race runs through the heart of the French capital, with its iconic start on the Champs-Élysées.

The 2027 race is a special one: it will be the 50th edition, with a new name (ASICS Marathon de Paris), a new organiser (Cadence Running United, taking over from ASO after 28 years) and a brand-new course that will remain the basis of the race until 2030 and make greater use of both banks of the Seine.

The way to get a bib also changes: first come, first served is gone and entry is now by lottery, as in London or New York. An ideal marathon for combining travel, running and the ultimate long-distance challenge in one of the world's most visited cities.
