What is the route of the MANN-FILTER XIX Zaragoza Marathon

The Zaragoza Marathon route starts and finishes at Plaza del Pilar, the symbolic heart of the city. The opening kilometres skirt the Expo grounds and the Roman Walls before heading into the Mercado Central and Plaza de España, two of the course's most recognisable points.

From there, the race runs along the wide axis formed by Paseo de la Independencia and Plaza de Aragón, before crossing the Ebro river over several of its bridges. For the 2026 edition, the course has been redesigned to add new sections such as the Puente del Tercer Milenio, Puente de Piedra, the bullring (Plaza de Toros) and Paseo de la Constitución.

The toughest stretch of the circuit comes at kilometre 17, climbing from Tenor Fleta up to the Canal Imperial — a climb that in previous editions came much later, at kilometre 32, and is now tackled with fresher legs. This edition also drops problematic sections from earlier years, such as the bike-lane stretch along the Canal Imperial and the passage under the Almozara bridge.

The closing stretch runs back along Don Jaime I and Coso before returning to Plaza del Pilar, closing out an urban route through Zaragoza's historic centre designed to be demanding without losing its appeal.
